Vintage Wonderland – Deborah Brand’s Corset Collection

Hi people first of all I’m so pleased to be on board at Fashion Plus Magazine. I have a vast array of fashion experience from living and working in NYC to styling international fashion shows and celebrities.

I was sat on the 328 bus in west London when this beautiful woman caught my eye, the figure of this woman was hypnotizing. When I came round from my daze, i realised it was the wonderful Deborah Brand sporting one of her own creations.

The Link between Creation and Wellbeing

We got talking about are mutual friends from the old days, it turns out we suffer from the same illness that one in three people suffer from in the world “Depression”……………. Depression is more than simply feeling unhappy or fed up for a few days! We all go through spells of feeling down, but when your depressed you feel persistently sad for weeks or months rather than just a few days.

Here at Fashion Plus Magazine I would like to raise awareness that depression is a real illness with real symptoms and is not a sign of weakness or something you can “snap out of by pulling yourself together” the good news is with the right treatment and support most people can make a fill recovery. Please see this NHS page for more information.

Charity Fashion Show

Saturday 22nd February 2014 at Porchester Hall – Notting Hill I was invited to attend a charity fashion show in aid of the Anna Freud Centre, the wonderful lady I was telling you about on the 328 Deborah Brand was showing her bespoke corset collection Porchester Hall is a lovely venue the chandeliers set to dim the catwalk brightly lit, immaculately dressed men and women arrive filling up the vast openness of venue with vibrant mood and soul, in the far left corner a baby grand piano onyx in colour glistened in the ambient atmosphere, the pianist started to throw sounds that caught everyone attention while the sensual Erin Cornel bloated along the catwalk in a stunning white gown and she started to sing her heart out. The hairs on the back of my neck started to stand up my full attention was focused from that point on. 15 beautiful models started to elegantly patrol the catwalk the mood and energy was palpable, the 3 second rule went out of the window I was fixated and mesmerised, the build up to the show stopping Deborah Brand corset line was perfect, the corsetry detail and structure oozed quality and sensuality.

Now I have picked my bottom jaw up from the wooden flooring it is time to thank Deborah Brand and her team for opening my eyes not only to the beauty of corsetry and the sensuality of the burlesque vibe that is being reintroduced in to today’s fashion must haves for any discerning modern woman.
